Utrecht by a whisker

Fortis/Squash Utrecht claimed the title in the Dutch League playoff finals at Amsterdam's Frans Otten Stadium, but only on points countback in a match that went down to the wire.

Didacticum/Victoria Squash took the lead when Czech champion Jan Koukal beat Glenn Keenan in straight games, but Stewart Boswell levelled for Utrecht leaving his team with a small advantage on points.

World number four Gregory Gaultier took Utrecht into the lead with a hard-fought win over Karim Darwish, the Egyptian exhausted in the fourth game which he lost 11/0.

That scoreline was to prove decisive as Victoria's Joe Kneipp beat Cameron Pilley to level the match on ties and games, but couldn't prevent the Utrecht man scoring enough points to give them the title.

The women's title was won by Victoria Rotterdam. Engy Kheirallah sealed the win in the deciding match against Amstelpark Amsterdam.
